Artificial Intelligence in your steering wheel? Jaguar has now come up with a smart steering wheel, that is set to compete with Alexa and Siri.
Jaguar believes it can redefine driving by providing a travel companion in your steering wheel. The portable steering wheel is set to be first of its kind and provide a glimpse into what the future of driving holds.
The wheel has been named the Sayer Wheel. It has been named after Malcom Sayer, the designer of the Jaguar E-pace in the 1960s. The steering wheel aims to provide ease in sharing cars. You can take your Sayer from one car to another. Personal settings such as your music choice, seat positioning and climate preferences will be automatically updated.
Jaguar believes that the future of cars would not be in ownership but rather in sharing cars. The wheel plans to guide the car through automated driving. Jaguar plans to integrate a software that will allow the driver to drive on roads that the AI thinks the driver would like to drive on as well.
The existence of these technologies, however, is only theoretical for the time being. Jaguar did make it clear that it will be working to incorporate these as well as other technologies in the Sayer. The final release of the wheel will take place in London on Thursday. The event is known as ‘Tech Fest’ is set to take place at King’s Palace in King’s Cross over the 8th, 9th & 10th of September.
