The RAF’s centenary is fast approaching.
For 100 years, brave Service men and women have protected us from threats across the globe. Now, the nation will come together in celebration of these enormous sacrifices and deserved successes. This will be a chance to reflect whilst looking forward, as we come together to support our Royal Air Force.
To mark this milestone, the RAF Museum will be hosting a unique exhibition to highlight some of the most powerful and interesting stories from the RAF’s history. As part of this, the Museum need the help of the British public to decide the focus of this landmark showcase.
For this celebration, the RAF Museum will focus on the lives and experiences of some of the Force’s most decorated pilots. This will specifically encompass those heroes who have flown in the Spitfire Mk V, and the extraordinary stories they carry with them.
They have compiled a collection of 11 thought-provoking memoirs from a collection of British and non-British pilots. This is to ensure that we have a chance to celebrate all those who have fought to keep us safe as part of this unique showcase.
