London is full of energy and diversity, that’s what makes it such a great city. The UK has recently received endorsements from not only Apple and Google, but also social media companies such as Facebook and Snapchat.  It’s a clear sign that London is the place to be doing business. In fact, businesses are being created in London every day!

Starship Technologies

Have you ever heard of Starship Technologies? Well, the next time you order pizza, it may very well be delivered by a machine. How crazy is that? The founders of Skype are partnering up with companies such as Just Eat and Domino’s Pizza  having raised a whopping £13.4 million pounds in funding for their six-wheeled delivery robot. Their machine has already been through testing in 16 countries, and could well be on a street near you soon! Click here to check them out!

Mush

Tinder for mums? It’s not what you think!

Sarah Hesz and Katie Massie-Taylor created the app ‘Mush’ in 2016. ‘Mush’ lets local parents swipe right and match to chat, swap and sell items. Mums are no longer alone! With more than 40,000 downloads in the UK, the app is now also available in the US, Canada, and Australia. Click here to check them out!

Monzo

Monzo just made it easy for you to track your spending.  The company offer pre-paid cards connected to an app, which analyses and tracks your spending habits. Wait, there’s more – the startup was granted a full banking licence in April 2017 and has managed to raise £19.5 million in a Series C funding round. This money is going towards the development of a series of banking products and smarter current accounts for users. Click here to check them out!

What’s next for London?

Starship Technologies, Mush, and Monzo are only three of hundreds of startups in London. It is safe to say that London is the place to be for a startup, with extensive opportunities for all ideas. With that being said, it is near impossible to know what the next big thing will be. We’re excited to find out though!
